Tasting Notes
Light in colour, with delicate floral and honey aromas, with a dry start and smooth savoury finish, will keep you coming back to the glass. A real hit with beekeepers with the rich aroma of beeswax, propolis and fresh pollen, reminiscent of opening up a beehive in spring.
Food Pairing
Wildflower Sparkling Mead, with it's delicate bubbles and Champagne like style, goes very well as an aperitif, with small tasting plates/ tapas, mild cheeses such as the Northumberland Cheese Company sheeps milk cheese - Redesdale. Equally has been used as an environmentally conscious alternative to Champagnes and Prosecco as reception drinks, toasts for weddings etc. Especially given the link the word honeymoon being derived from mead, Wildflower Sparkling Mead is a real treat for an extra special Sparkling.
How to Drink Mead
Have you heard of this Mead Drink? Surprisingly many people haven’t. Yet mead has the chance to be the most sustainable alcoholic drink out there. We are also frequently asked, how do you drink mead?
The answer to this question is very much down to the type of mead drink you have in front of you. With our mead it is a Sparkling Mead, so you would tend to drink this chilled, very much like a Champagne or sparkling wine. Other mead types may be drunk warmed up or at room temperature, but with a perfect balance of acidity in the sparkling meads they are really a taste sensation when served chilled. Either half an hour in the freezer if you’re in a rush! Or keep them in the fridge so they are perfectly chilled and ready for you when you are.
So give this mead drink a go! You’ll be joining a growing army of people who are drinking different, drinking better and more sustainably!
