Their Dry Sparkling Mead is a great tasting, low sugar alternative to Champagne and Prosecco and their honey is a must for those who appreciate real genuine honey.
Northumberland Honey Co was born out of a love for Champagne and a passion for beekeeping.
Founded in 2015 by Luke and Suzie, today they keep 150 colonies of bees, and are training the next generation in bee farming through the bee farmers association apprenticeship scheme. All made possible by their work with the honey bee.
Honey goes into jars and comb, for those who appreciate real genuine honey, and also into creating the bee equivalent of Champagne.
The range of traditional method Sparkling Mead is produced over a period of 2 years, with each variety essentially being it's own 'vintage' depending on the flowers the bees forage on.
Traditional method Sparkling Mead has the ability to be the most sustainable sparkling you can enjoy, as it increases bee numbers by 3,000 per bottle, and the process has no waste products.
Northumberland Honey Co set out, and continue in the same vain that the Champagne region was estabished but instead of being associated with grapes, their mission is to elevate the profile of the bee, Northumberland and positively contributing to the environment.
