Welcome to The Yummy Yank, dedicated to bringing authentic American desserts to the UK and baking such classics as rich chocolate brownies and bars in 14 delicious flavours and 4 luscious loaf cakes, including carrot and red velvet.
Owner, Lisa Gair has been living in the UK since 1997. A passionate foodie, she has taken her love of baking and turned it into a full time profession. She is dedicated to the baking of American desserts, adding her own signature twists and turning old time favourites into 21st century classics.
The Yummy Yank began when Lisa discovered a local farmers’ market and decided to take some cakes and bakes to sell every month. This increased to two markets, then three and so on. The response was amazing and the business has continued to snowball.
The secret of her success is keeping true to her American heritage. The ‘big’ style, ‘richer’ taste and ’superior’ quality of the desserts are based on what she grew up with in America, all with an added modern twist. While some of Lisa’s ingredients come from the US of A, she also uses ingredients from local artisan producers. These quality products are all handmade.
