Ifor’s cattle produce some of the tastiest, most delicious beef that they have EVER experienced, whether this is down to having a pint or two of Monty’s Beer from the local brewery every day … or whether it is the little daily massage that Ifor gives them … or just the fact that they are well loved and cared for in a very beautiful part of Wales – who can tell?
Alternative Meats is an independent butchery just on the outskirts of Whitchurch, Shropshire. Owned by Rachel Godwin, the company has been supplying deliciously different meats across the nation for almost 20 years. By chance alone, they are an entirely female-run company, which is quite a rarity in an incredibly male-orientated industry and the team are driven and dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of quality and taste and specialise in supplying some of the finest produce available. This drive has built the business into one of the UK’s finest online suppliers for uniquely different breeds and bespoke butchery, keeping them fresh and a little different within this rapidly developing market place.
This has over the years, caught the attention of many high-profile restaurants and chefs, all of whom are known for their focus on outstanding quality and standards, including but not limited to Gordan Ramsay’s The Savoy Grill, with Head Chef Matt Worswick, and Michelin-starred chef Gareth Ward from Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms. Also, not forgetting their successful online business supplying home consumers with their amazing products.
Their flagship product is ‘Welsh Wagyu Beef’ bred and reared in Montgomeryshire, Wales. Wagyu is a Japanese breed predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of omega 3 and 6 fats. The meat from Wagyu is renowned around the world for its quality and flavour.
Mangalitza Pork from Otterburn Mangalitza, in Helmsley North Yorkshire, is another full- flavoured product they also champion. Mangalitza Pigs are a Hungarian breed of pig, famous for their long curly hair and their marbled meat, it is often described as the Wagyu of the pork world. It sits naturally within the products that Alternative Meats promotes – fantastic quality, with a standalone taste experience, like nothing you have ever had before – a real recipe for success in today’s very competitive and challenging meat industry.
Alternative Meats are renowned for their quality, variety, and bespoke butchery but most importantly their personal customer service they provide from start to finish.
